About the Founder
Seya Nikesia Wilson
Wilson was born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 15, 1989 to parents Maxine A. Henry Wilson and Gladstone Wilson. She attended St. Andrew Preparatory School and then matriculated to St. Andrew High School in the year 2000. Throughout her formative years, she pursued and maintained active membership in service clubs such as Kiwanis Builder’s Club, Key Club.
This passion for service also led her to student leadership where she served as a member of the Student’s Council body. After secondary school, Seya Wilson applied to the University of the West Indies and was accepted. She started a part time degree programme in the faculty of Humanities and Education, as a history major. After commencing the programme she realized her fascination with the arts was far more reaching than she had thought. After three semesters she successfully applied for a change to the department of Literatures in English. While at the University of the West Indies, her involvement in student activism remained active. As a member of the Taylor Hall, she was involved in student elections and other aspects of student government initiatives.
She graduated from the University of the West Indies in 2019.
During her university life she worked full time, working in both the private and public sectors. Particularly, as an aid to many political representatives including Dr. Winston Green (now deceased), Dr. Morais Guy (Former Minister of Housing), Dr. Peter Phillips (Former Leader of the Opposition), Dr. Angela Brown Burke (Member of Parliament/ Former Mayor of Kingston). In these roles her political skills were honed; having been mentored by all those whom she worked with and interacted.
